In this intensive workshop we will delve into the relationship between the photographer and his subjects, the confrontation of gazes that occurs with the camera as a witness. The search for the self in the other.

We will see how the experience of being portrayed helps the photographer to get closer to the task of portraying, directing and empathizing with the photographic model (their insecurity, discomfort and complexes are ours)

We will address all the phases of the process:

Preproduction

From the idea to its implementation.

The limitations of reality: technical and creative solutions.

Differences between commission and free creation.

Photoshoot

We will carry out a portrait photographic session with the attendees (those who voluntarily so wish) where all these concepts will be put into practice.

Conclusions

We will select the final photos and draw conclusions from the results obtained.

 

PROGRAMMING

9.30-12h. PRESENTATION

-Presentation of attendees

-Exhibition of a summary of the author's work in the field of portraiture

12-14h. PREPRODUCTION

- Brainstorming:

Preparation. Documentation of the character to be portrayed. Study of the characteristics of the portrayed. Visual references,… aesthetic treatment (color, style, attitude, types of pose,…)

-Planning:

Production breakdown. Workflow: capture with the computer, technical equipment, lighting scheme (natural, artificial or mixed light) and study preparation.

14-15h. LUNCH

16.30-19.00h. PHOTOSHOOT

-Implementation of the planning and atmosphere of the session (facilities, music, degree of intimacy, ...)

-Relationship with the person portrayed. Study of the physiognomy and emotional state of the person portrayed.

-Photoshoot

19-21h. CONCLUSIONS

-Organization and photograph storage.

-Editing the session: selection of 3 photographs and previous color processing.

Note: The author will send a final portrait in high resolution digital format (24x30 cm) to those attending the workshop who have also participated as models.
